HISTORY
Here at Maritime Mulching, we have a history of wanting to take care of our forests. It started back in the 1980’s seeing my father work in the woods. My father worked in silviculture but I never understood as a child exactly what he was doing. He always just said he was taking care of the forest.
Silviculture is the art and science of controlling the establishment, growth, composition, health, and quality of forests and woodlands to meet the diverse needs and values of landowners and society on a sustainable basis, including wildlife habitat, timber, water resources, restoration, and recreation.
I remember countless days spent in the forest with my dad as he worked, learning different tree species and the do’s and don’ts of Silviculture. I knew from a young age that’s what I wanted to do, however, I wanted to improve upon it.
PRESENT
Just like in the past, here at Maritime Mulching, the environment and the safety of our employees is of the utmost importance to us. This is why the machinery & tools that we use are of the latest technology. Our heavy machinery meets Tier 4 Final standards for emissions which is the highest & final standard. It is federally controlled & regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). We use battery-operated saws to keep noise & pollution to an absolute minimum. This helps protect our employees from fumes and hearing loss, as well as protects the environment from pollution. Our customers also enjoy the peace & quiet compared to traditional gas-powered means.
